Life Insurance - provides a financial benefit to beneficiaries upon the insured's death.

The Navajo Nation Employee Benefit Program offers a Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance Program to employees. The Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance provides employees 24 hour coverage and is effective the date of enrollment; if enrolled within 31 days of hire date. Otherwise, an Evidence of Insurability will be required.

*Both Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance is based on an employee's annual salary. Below is the amount for each category.

E. Elected Official	$10,000	$10,000

Dependent Basic Life

Spouse: $7,500

Children: $5,500

Coverage is provided for dependent children from newborn up to the 26th birthday, if qualifications are satisfied.

Claims Process:

Notice of Life Claim must be provided no later than 30 days after date of loss and/or dismemberment.

Proof of Claim must be completed and required documents must be submitted.

Proof must be satisfactory to life insurance underwriter.

Allow 2-4 weeks to process once all acceptable documents are received by life insurance underwriter.

Grief Counseling:

Metlife Group Life comes with grief counseling provided by Harris, Rothenberg International, Inc. for you, your dependents, and beneficiaries up to five confidential counseling sessions per event.

Instructions for Enrollment

All changes, cancellations must be done online.

Enter "Navajo Nation" under 'Account Sign-In'
Select "First Time User? Register Now" to create a Username and Password which is employee specific
Once all information is set up, the employee will be given the option to elect coverage
All changes, terminations and beneficiary designation must be done online
Guarantee issue amounts available if elected within 30 days
